Keeping Fit and Fabulous at The Regency at Glen Cove

Keeping Fit and Fabulous at The Regency at Glen CoveEvery morning at 9:30 you can find Regency residents bending, stretching and getting their daily dose of exercise in.  On some very special mornings they are doing it with Randi Sternberg Hersh, Pilates instructor from Evolution Pilates, in Port Washington.  Randi earned her certification at Power Pilates in New York City in 2007, and has been teaching ever since.   Her specialty is working with elderly clients, injured clients and those with debilitating illnesses that affect their ability to perform everyday functions.
Pilates is an ideal workout for everyone because it can easily be adapted to all fitness levels.  Attention to core strength and full-body fitness, including the breath and the mind, provide a level of integrative fitness that is hard to find elsewhere.  It is also the reason that Pilates is so popular in rehab scenarios, and thus can be so helpful with the elderly.  Pilates helps to increase flexibility and energy levels while improving posture and promoting a long and lean appearance.
Randi finds it rewarding, challenging and inspiring to work with those who really need her help.  They are her favorite clients to work with because she knows she can really make a difference in their lives.   The residents of The Regency always look forward to seeing Randi, not only for her great workouts, but also for her smiles and words of encouragement for all.  “Everyone can do something,” she says.  Thank you Randi!  For more information about activities at The Regency, please visit our website at www.theregencyatglencove.com.
