The residents honored and thanked the staff of The Regency at Glen Cove during a party for the staff for Assisted Living Month. The Regency’s Resident Council President, Catherine Saccente shared some inspiring words at the party with residents, staff and families:
“As of resident for the last 7 years, I can honestly say I love The Regency. It’s not the building…it’s the people...Both residents and Staff. I was happy to hear that Governor Cuomo declared September as Assisted Living Month. On behalf of the residents of The Regency, I would like to THANK all of the staff. You are the ones that help all of us enjoy our lives each and every day. It can be from someone who helps a resident get beautifully dressed in the morning, or the waiter than services their favorite breakfast to them to the staff that hands me my bingo winnings to receiving my morning newspaper with “a good morning” - to my bed being made with love and to my grandchildren’s portrait being hung in my apartment. The best part is simply receiving a smile and someone saying “Hello”. We all know that you care. Thank you for completing our family and in my book every month should celebrate Assisted Living.”
The party ended with The Regency’s Annual Apple Pie Bake Off. Eight pies were made by our staff. After the delicious “test tasting” by the residents, it was a close race and the winner Erica Kyriakopoulos, The Regency’s Recreation Director.
