New Recreation Director at The Regency Assisted Living

John LubojaJohn Luboja joins The Regency team as our new Recreation Director. Born and raised in Westchester County, John graduated from Marist College and was a Division I athlete and a top ten Diver on the East Coast. An avid sports fan, John spends a lot of his free time attending and watching sporting events. John has always enjoyed working with seniors and volunteered in Nursing Homes throughout High School and College. He comes to the Regency with over five years of experience working in the Assisted Living field. During this time John was able to create comprehensive activity programs for independent seniors and for those in need of some assistance. He has also spent much time working with residents with cognitive impairments.
John is looking forward to applying his experience and knowledge to establish a unique and stimulating Recreation program here at The Regency. John believes that the best way to truly reach all residents is to provide programming with as much sensory stimulation as possible. Instructors will lead activities that will utilize all five senses- sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. From painting to baking, to exercise and brain games, engaging residents completely will allow them to have more fun and encourage them to be more active and involved on a daily basis.
John Luboja with ResidentsJohn will also focus on reintroducing Regency University seminars here each month. Regency U. is The Regency’s Continuing Education Program, featuring an eclectic mix of classes on a diverse array of topics that stimulate the hearts and minds of our residents. Often, these classes are interactive and cover subjects such as History, Science and Nature, Music and the Arts and Current Events. Regency U. is capped off annually with a fun graduation ceremony complete with some VIP guest speakers.
Finally, John and his staff feel that it is important for all Regency residents to have a voice and to be involved. The Regency is their home and they should be able to make decisions and weigh in on things they would like to do and see. John is truly excited to further enrich the lives of Regency residents and create a happy and fun environment for all. We are so happy to have John as the newest addition to the Regency Family!
