The Regency is Proud to Salute its Veterans

The Regency is Proud to Salute its VeteransThis year, The Regency at Glen Cove celebrated its Veterans with a gourmet luncheon presented by Executive Chef, Pat Marone. Regency Veterans were saluted for their service by staff and residents alike. Recreation Director, Erica Ferrara, announced each Veteran - along with their ranks and branch of service - to much applause and cheering. Many special guests joined in the festivities, including Katherine Gibson of Rotary International and members of the Glen Cove Rotary, along with Veterans from VFW Post 8033 in Oyster Bay.
Regency Veterans were presented with flag pins from Mary Suddell of The Marquis and Glen Cove Center Rehabilitation & Nursing Centers, while CD's of America the Beautiful and MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat) were given out by The Rotarians. The Veterans were also visited by children from the Glen Cove Youth Bureau and film students from Locust Valley High School, who came to interview some of the Veterans and to hear their stories. It was interesting to hear them recall so much from so long ago. Katherine Gibson remarked, "It is so important to always remember and honor our Veterans and to teach the younger generation about what they endured so that history lives on in each of us". We will always be grateful for their service and the sacrifices they made.
