Mei’s special day was made even more meaningful as she celebrated with her beautiful daughter, Rona, her son-in-law, Bruno, and two dear family friends who are like daughters to her, Kathleen and Jane. Their love and devotion made the celebration one to remember.
Born in Japan, Mei’s heritage was woven into the festivities as residents, families, and staff gathered to dance, laugh, reminisce, and even sing “Happy Birthday” in Japanese—a touching tribute that brought smiles to everyone in the room.
At 103 years young, Mei reminds us that elegance never goes out of style and that a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections is the greatest gift of all.

The celebration was made even more special with distinguished guests including Mayor Pam Panzenbeck, Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, and Assemblyman Charles Lavine, who joined us in recognizing Silvana’s dedication and service.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came when we surprised Silvana with two of the most important people in her life—her sister, Alda, and the love of her life, Mike. As Whitney Houston’s timeless anthem, “I’m Every Woman,” filled the air, our staff lined the hallway leading into the dining room, each holding a single rose. One by one, they presented their rose to Silvana as she walked through a corridor of love and appreciation, creating a moment that few will ever forget.
Silvana was showered with beautiful gifts and heartfelt proclamations, including a custom charm bracelet that perfectly reflected her life’s passions—music, her faith, horseback riding, and the many lives she has touched throughout her journey.
We were also deeply moved by the heartfelt speeches from Chef Pat and Richie, whose words captured just how much Silvana means to all of us.
Silvana made sure to share the spotlight. In a true reflection of her selfless nature, she had the honor of presenting Caregiver Camille Cordero with her 5-Year Service Award. It was a fitting moment as Silvana recognized another dedicated team member whose compassion and commitment help make The Regency Senior Living such a special place.
Although we will miss seeing her every day, retirement promises exciting new adventures. Silvana is looking forward to spending more time on the pickleball court and checking off a lifelong dream of visiting every National Park in the United States.
And don’t worry—we’re not letting her get away completely! Recreation Director Annmarie has already added Silvana to the activity calendar to host a monthly “Getting to Know You” class for our residents, ensuring they’ll continue to benefit from her warmth, wisdom, and wonderful stories.
Silvana, thank you for every smile, every hug, every act of kindness, and every life you’ve touched at The Regency Senior Living. Your legacy of compassion will remain part of our family forever.

Our gentlemen looked handsome before they walked through the door, but you should see them now! Fresh cuts, clean shaves, and a renewed confidence had everyone looking and feeling like a million bucks.
A heartfelt thank you to Marvin and his incredible team of caring barbers for their kindness. You have a special way of making every gentleman feel welcomed, respected, and valued.
And to our Safe Harbor Director, Erica, thank you for always finding meaningful ways to enrich the lives of our residents. At The Regency, it’s these thoughtful moments that make all the difference.
